About Linda
I am a fully qualified and registered member of the Society for the Teachers of the Alexander Technique having completed the three year training at the Fellside Alexander School in Kendal and a post graduate training at the Institute for Research and Development of the Alexander Technique in New York in 1991.
I hold full insurance and work to a strict code of ethics
I have recently completed a fascinating and rewarding four years of further training with Don Weed, an inspirational teacher and head of training for the ITM method of teaching the Alexander Technique.
How did I get into the Alexander Technique?
As an enthusiastic school teacher from 1974 to 1988, I began to develop voice problems, and for someone who loved to sing this was not a happy situation!
I began having Alexander lessons and soon realised there was so much more to be gained from this than I could ever have imagined. It has helped me in so many areas of my life, professionally and personally, and has truly changed my life for the better.
I decided I wanted to train and pass this on and what a great decision that was!
For the past 26 years or more I have had the enormous pleasure and privilege of sharing this work with people from all walks of life.
I teach in Edinburgh and East Lothian and Spain
I also teach at the Royal Scottish Conservatoire in Glasgow and am heartened time and time again with the benefits students get from this work. Whether dealing with pain, performance anxiety, general stress or just reaching levels of skill and expression in performance they didn’t know they had, the Alexander Technique becomes an invaluable part of their lives.
“Linda is an inspirational mentor who gently guides you through the philosophy and practice of the Alexander Technique. Her teaching is engaging and uplifting and the sessions are as
enjoyable as they are informative.”
